Introduction

During the last few decades significant progress was made in understanding the origin and properties of magnetic field both in small and large scales. This conference is intended to provide a broad interdisciplinary forum, gathering together specialists from various fields related to the workshop theme.

The conference „Magnetic fields on scales from kilometres to kiloparsecs: properties and origin” is intended for professional scientists, PhD students and Post-Docs interested in magnetic fields and their properties. We expect about 100 participants from all over the world. The conference will consist of invited talks, contributed talks, and a poster session. The conference proceedings will be made available both in book form and electronically.

The conference will be held in Kraków one of the oldest cities in Poland. Cracow is a remarkable town situated on the Vistula river. The city offers a lot of tourist attractions. Cracow has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural and artistic life, and is one of Poland's most important economic centres.
