Travel information

This document explains, how to reach the Astronomical Observatory from the railway station Kraków Glówny. If you start from Warsaw, refer to the train timetable. LOT airlines schedule is also available.

The best way to move towards the Observatory from the Kraków Glówny station is to take the bus line 152 or 192. The bus stop is close to the station at Lubicz street (consult the city comunication plan). The normal ticket costs is 2.4zl, but ticket per one hour cost 3.0zl and its no mether how often you will be change bus or tram. You can buy the ticket at any news-stand or from the bus driver (in the latter case you need to pay 0.5 zl extra). After boarding you must punch your ticket.

The bus surrounds the old city through streets: Basztowa, Dunajewskiego and Podwale then turns right into Pilsudskiego street. After crossing crowded Avenues it goes straight to Krolowej Jadwigi street via Focha street. At (almost) any stop at Krolowej Jadwigi street or the succeeding Kasztanowa street you should transfer to bus No. 102. Or on the cros the Chełmska street and Olszanicka street where is the end of route bus 152. You should watch numbers on the bus stops which shows what lines are available. When you see the number 102 (among 134, 152, and 192) you should get off.

The last chance to change the bus is the stop "Chelm". Here you have to wait for the bus No. 102. If you have bad luck, you can wait half an hour. Check the timetable. This bus takes you to the Observatory. You should get off at the last stop. The Observatory is about 10 minutes walk from this stop.
