Welcome

The international conference "Relativistic Jets: Creation, Dynamics, and Internal Physics" is a follow-up of the previous Krakow meetings including

2011: "Understanding Relativistic Jets”
2008: "Kinetic Modeling of Astrophysical Plasmas"
2006: "Challenges of Relativistic Jets”
2003: "Particle Acceleration in Astrophysical Objects”

This time the conference will consist of five full-day sessions/workshops, each focusing on a particular well-defined set of problems related to the physics of relativistic jets in active galaxies.

There will be no printed conference proceedings; an online collection of the electronic versions of all the talks and posters will be available on the conference website instead.

The meeting will take place in the Jagiellonian University Conference Centre, about 7 km from the town centre. It is easily accessible by taxi and by public transport. The guesthouse adjoint to the Conference Center can accommodate about 100 of participants in single, double, and triple rooms (respectively 170 PLN, 110 PLN, and 90 PLN per person per night, including breakfast). Hotel bookings in the guesthouse are to be made upon registering; the payment should be done individually at the hotel reception desk when checking out, either in cash (polish zloty) or with credit card. Hotel bookings outside of the Conference Center should all be carried out individually.

Complimentary transportation from the Balice Airport to the Conference Center on April 19 (Sunday), and from the Conference Center to the Balice Airport on April 25 (Saturday), will be provided for the participants of the meeting. If interested, please contact Natalia Zywucka, providing your flight information (name, arrival time on April 19, departure time on April 25, number of accompanying persons).

Complimentary transportation from the Krakow downtown to the Conference Center each morning during the week of the meeting (April 20, Monday - April 24, Friday), and back in the evenings, will be provided for the participants. The exact meeting point in the downtown will be announced later. Please contact Dorota Koziel-Wierzbowska for further information.
